"That's a fact!"A simple piece of foam under the unit solved that. In fact I can hear the bubbles from the water more than the pump itself. Yes it obviously makes some noise-but not at all as much as I was anticipating. It still works internally, but no air. Once, the water in this tank backflowed into the unit. Save some money by not having to replace your air pumps every year! I currently have it in a closet to grow aquatic plants and brine shrimp.

I had the Whisper models and they were way too high in emissions. In fact I can hear the bubbles from the water more than the pump itself. I have this in our small aquarium with an LED bubble stone. I have the pump hooked up to a large sponge. If it craps out anytime soon, I'll update the review.

"With the windows closed."I have it running on 55g with 2 sponge filters for my Axolotl tank. I had to use valves to reduce the output. I'm not going to knock the product for my own paranoia though. I currently have it in a closet to grow aquatic plants and brine shrimp. I own Whisper 10, 150, 300, Eheim 400, and Fusion 700. I know my title sounds overly dramatic, but I'm not kidding. Hardly noticeable that it is running for an aquarium air pump.

"Good luck."Just bought and started using it a few days ago. Buzzing, humming, vibrating- they were driving me nuts! My first one may have been a lemon. I had to use valves to reduce the output. Pump is basically silent when both airlines are attached. After 3 weeks, I received a new one in the mail. And one to the additional accessories for extra oxygen output only.

"It is perfect!"Ordered this air pump to replace one of my other pumps and the difference is amazing. Apparently the dome shape plays a significant role in noise reduction. Just bought and started using it a few days ago. My 20H tank is in my office, 3 feet away from my desk. I had to use valves to reduce the output. I put a nice little fan next to mine and it now runs much cooler! I'm using it for small start-up hydroponic system.

"Value for money."It makes the perfect size bubbles and the fish love it. Apparently the dome shape plays a significant role in noise reduction. This is the second pump I have bought in the series. I cleaned the sponge and hooked it all back up, hardly any air was coming out. I was currently using 2 Whispers and they were anything but whispering. The pressure isn't as great as I hoped. It really is pretty quiet- once you unclog the air pathway.

"Good air flow."I have the pump hooked up to a large sponge. Larger tank owners won't have my issues. It has one air outlet so i used a spliter& ran a tube to each end of bubbler. So I run two of these with gang valves on my 55 gallon tall living room tank. Pump is basically silent when both airlines are attached. I use them in my Tilapia tanks and Koi pond. This thing has plenty of power for my needs.

"Quite and nice."In fact I can hear the bubbles from the water more than the pump itself. The pump works very well in my 75G tank. It's the second one of this model I’ve owned. This is the second pump I have bought in the series. I was wrong it has enough power to run all 9 with air to spare. I'd say this pump would be loud if it were used in the same room as you. It just sounds like a large freezer.

"It is perfect!"It pumps out enough air to keep millions of air bubbles going in this 200g+ Aquarium! It makes the perfect size bubbles and the fish love it. So I completely disassembled the sponge holder. The pump works well when there is no defects. I had the Whisper models and they were way too high in emissions. The reviews sold me on this product but I was still skeptical. Seems very well built, does as advertised.

"Super quiet!"You MUST use a fan with this pump or it will def burn out or lose pressure. This would be the fourth attempt to satisfy my needs and my ears. I set up 2 more and still all the control valve are not open 100%. I know my title sounds overly dramatic, but I'm not kidding. Though the 18W model isn't so loud that it can only be used outside. It still works internally, but no air. I added a check valve to my airline tubing and works as expected.

This one is far better than I anticipated! The pump is so powerful that it pushed off the connection tube several times.
