I hate negative reviews for awesome items just because the buyer didn't read! Really nice value for the money, I think. If you see black substrate, that was still waiting for the 2nd bag. I've bought quite a few packs to get the volume I needed. It's not difficult but you need rinse over and over to get the water clear.

The water deactivates it and makes it safe. I am only giving 4 star because I had no way to request a larger stone after order. Very surprised with how many rocks came with this order. Worth every penny, my nano looks great. Def need to clean before putting in your tank.

Every living thing in both tanks are healthy and as far as I can tell happy. I wanted real stone instead of the fake stuff at the local box stores. Also, if you need any manzanita or any other driftwood. Honestly it's a good idea to have some glue on hand anyways. Great stones, came with 3 various sizes for the 5 lbs option.

"Now let me say one thing."Perfect to go around my water feature in my garden. They are worth very dollar, and a very good price. I love the stones, but yes, barely enough to cover a corner of my aquarium. It took me all day to get them at least somewhat cleaned off. Just hit the add to cart and wait until you get the dust off and see them wet. It's not difficult but you need rinse over and over to get the water clear. For an Iwagumi layout, this would be the Oyaishi.

"The grey or black."Trying shipping this much heavy stone. I got a nice large piece that was about six or eight inches wide. Loved what I got, highly reccomend these. I may have even used too much rock but I love how the scape came out with this rock. I switched up my plans a bit and everything was lovely. It's simple slate rock but it's natural and really great for my box turtle terrarium. I will not be able to get all 7 rocks in my Bio Orb 8 gallon tank.

I soaked the rocks for about 20-25 min, took them out and hosed them off really well. I was expecting this to be a thicker resin piece. I got six, nice sized chunks of slate. Love this product did not change colors when water ran over it.
