Take it from us— follow the instructions about what type to use! Easy to use and perfect for my tank! Would recommend two smaller filters on either side to help water flow. I would much rather be able to see my whole tank the rest of the day. I created an inexpensive portable indoor potty for my little dog. I have it in a divided ten gallon with two bettas. It's good for what I needed it for.

Only reason I took a star off was the price. I had an oddly aggressive Molly and this worked great for the time I needed to use. I mean, it's an aquarium divider lol. I had an oddly aggressive Molly and this worked great for the time I needed to use. Product works great if you can figure out how to fit it into your fish tank. I know Betta fish are aggressive, so they must be separated. I cam keep my 2 betta fish in the same tank now.

Overall this has done the job I've needed to. I also found out small fish can easily swim between the gaps on the sides. Divider works well for our two Bettas that share a 10 gallon aquarium. Even though there are holes in the acrylic the water flow is not the same. It is a bit tricky to straighten it and clip it, but with a bit of a push, it's fine. So I'm writing this to tell you you step on them. Look closely at the slight taper in the connections to see which way to insert them. I also found out small fish can easily swim between the gaps on the sides. They can see each other but they can't fight. I found these and now have 6 of them for my male bettas.

There were scratches when we got this so I originally gave it one star review. Second- Do not recommend for bettas or small fish! I'm separating male and female cichlids. The gravel along with the quick trim left no gaps for me.
