They look like the edging that's on the tanks, so it's as attractive as possible. And now I know they are getting enough to eat. It was slightly long so I had to trim off the bottom edge to make it fit. No matter what size betta I put I know it won't go through the divider. And since it has been working ok, I decided to change the review to 4 star. It keeps the boys from being able to see each other. Divider works well for our two Bettas that share a 10 gallon aquarium.

I got this to keep my albino Koi guppies separated from my fancy males. The product comes with many small plastic pieces. It was a bit too wide for my tank, so I cut it a bit and it's perfect. Works great and we have it holding a divider in a lizard tank. I did have to bury the bottom in about an inch or so of gravel to keep it in place. "So it's nice decision."

I have to trim off about a quarter inch and then they work just fine. It worked well for me and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I did have to bury the bottom in about an inch or so of gravel to keep it in place. It is thick, well made and a great addition if you have the tank they specified. Small, skinny betta can go through those. They can still see each other and try to fight through the barrier but its a no go. Very good divider for my 20 gal long freshwater aquarium.

Second- Do not recommend for bettas or small fish! It worked well in my very small 12 gallon show tank. Only because of that reviewer, I was able to use them the way I intended. If you have the divider in the gravel it will not meet the top of the tank. It was a bit too wide for my tank, so I cut it a bit and it's perfect. Only reason I took a star off was the price. Make sure you read the instructions and have the right type of aquarium!

Very few problems just a couple things to keep in mind when buying. It assembled quickly and painlessly. This is a great option for keeping two bettas in the same tank! Barrier is like a plastic mesh screen that allows water to flow through. I'm separating male and female cichlids. Two were forced to spend most of their time in hiding. I did not receive suction cups but I had my own to it did what I was looking for.

I cut it to size using a paper cutter because it was easier than scissors.
