"Worth every penny."If I had gotten small pieces I would have boiled them. Surprisingly, tarter I put it into the tank, I see no tanin at all. This is acceptable to me, because my water stays clean and clear, despite the tint. I was unsure when I ordered what type of wood they would be. Make sure you boil the item before adding to your set up. This alone will not drop it to the low numbers some fish need. I have another 5 Gallon Marine and Portrait to setup.

"Great purchase."It blends wonderfully with my other natural decor. It's a lottery when buying driftwood online. My filter should take care of any water discoloration from this driftwood. I bought three of these and all three are only 11 inches long at their longest edge. I changed the soaking water 3 times. I'm not sure what people are expecting for this price. Mostly straighter bits of wood in the lake bottom, etc.

"One looks a little blah."Very happy with product and fast shipping and receiving. I am impatient and don't want to wait to soak. It's totally normal for natural wood to grow a white biofilm. Overall, the purchase is definitely worth it. I am very big on using natural materials when I aquascape. I recieved a Fluval Mopani Driftwood. Great customer service as I had a few branches missing.

EDIT, boiled the wood for 2 hours and they sank.

"These seem pretty solid."It provides a decent, natural-looking refuge for smaller fish and other creatures. Somewhat smaller in diameter than I assumed. I was originally going to buy the black version, but it sold out before I could. We wanted something simple& classy for our aquarium& this really fit the bill! I was looking for a piece of driftwood for a display application. Water is still crystal clear and it certainly brought tremendous value to my tank. The first is you won't know what you have until it comes. The quality is really good and it looked really pretty sitting in my empty tank.

They say to boil it, but I can't find a pot big enough to do so. He is saving the other driftwood for a tomato frog he wants. I then soaked it in a bucket overnight with hot water. After a little online research, I decided to buy mopane driftwood for my Fluval 2.

You could also leave off a section branch and use it separately in your design. I am very big on using natural materials when I aquascape. I am glad it is in my tank and adds something natural that the fish should enjoy. It's totally normal for natural wood to grow a white biofilm. You can just scrape or brush it off and suck it up with a water change.

"Very interesting looking."The clean water pic is after 7 days and 3 full water changes. I really love the piece and it was well worth what I paid for it. The quality is really good and it looked really pretty sitting in my empty tank. I am assuming every piece looks different. But up close it is obvious where the branches connect and makes it look fake. It provides a decent, natural-looking refuge for smaller fish and other creatures. It even had small branches correctly located to do my mount!

I boiled mine for two hours and the water was almost black. You MUST ACCEPT that BEFORE you order any driftwood anywhere online. I have not had any trouble with them hurting my fish. I left it to soak in tap water at room temperature while I sat up my aquarium.
