I am impatient and don't want to wait to soak. Should have soaked it longer but oh well hopefully it will clear up soon. They've made great hiding spots for my catfish. I left it to soak in tap water at room temperature while I sat up my aquarium. Two pieces each individually taped up and no breakage. Depending on the type of wood this may take months to go away. Great customer service as I had a few branches missing.

I am going to boil it tomorrow and then let it sit in water until the tank comes. Mine is 2 tone, darker, and unique shape. Very similar to photo and it was large. For the price, I received 5 useful and interesting pieces. This alone will not drop it to the low numbers some fish need. The clean water pic is after 7 days and 3 full water changes. My shrimp and fish love it plus it looks great in the tank.

Overall, if you need a few smaller pieces of wood, this should work for you. I have a newly established tank for my Green Spotted puffers. Covered in moss for extra protection. Be sure to follow the directions for de-tanning the wood. I really love the piece and it was well worth what I paid for it. This alone will not drop it to the low numbers some fish need. My filter should take care of any water discoloration from this driftwood.

It's totally normal for natural wood to grow a white biofilm. Each peice is unique, which makes it fun in my eyes. I really got lucky with the one that was chosen as it's perfect for my display. All pieces were nice size for my 5 gallon tank. Covered in moss for extra protection. Surprisingly, tarter I put it into the tank, I see no tanin at all. Two pieces each individually taped up and no breakage.

If you have a small tank this is a problem. However, you can find plenty of 3-5 piece packs out there around this price. People have also complained about the coloring of water. I have another 5 Gallon Marine and Portrait to setup. You can bend and trim to some extent to help conform it to your particular space. The first is you won't know what you have until it comes. My filter should take care of any water discoloration from this driftwood. The fish love it and it's a great addition to the aquarium. Because of this, I ordered another one and it's at my front door now.
