"Then you vacuum."The vacuum power is amazingly strong, yet adjustable. It will suck up a little bit of sand, which is expected and acceptable. I even decimated my snail problem with this thing. I had a couple of problems as it was the first time I have used anything like this. Anyone giving this product a bad review is not using it properly. "Wish I found this sooner."Returned, but agreed to try another one. I have a 29g aquarium and it does suction quickly as others have said. Product seems to be well made and should work a long time with reasonable care. This thing does both at the same time and quickly. I love the extendable attachments for my larger tanks. It's easy to put together, easy to use, easy to clean. Returned, but agreed to try another one.

"IT's SO easy to use."I've done the siphon vacuum attempts with 3 different products. This thing does both at the same time and quickly. Ohh I also use it to add water to my system. I got a bunch of sludge out of the bottom of my aquarium. Using a bucket to remove old water and then fill up bucket with new water. With this 12 Volt aquarium cleaner that apprehension is eliminated. Gravel cleaning has become so easy and mess free.

"Wonderful product!"The costomer service for this company is wonderful. The filter loads up really fast, so it's not much good for recycling water cleaning. I have large fish and large fish make large poop! I don't use the sponge and filter pad that came with the device. Next time, I'll lay towels down around the tank. The hardest thing to do is wrap up the cord to store it after use. Maybe if another piece was included to attach to the right after the shutoff.

"I totally recommend this."Ignore the orang plastic clip that attaches to a bucket. So after I received my replacement tool, i did a water change with it. Hard for small hands like mine to grasp and use easily. Needless to say there was a lot of muc on the bottom. The suction is great and the valve at the end is perfect. I like the fact it is not draining the water when you vacuum. Ignore the orang plastic clip that attaches to a bucket.

"No suction."It got clogged a few times and i had to take it to the sink and run water through it. I'm thinking of other ways this could be used! I would recommend turning your filter off during the process. It's also pretty slow going, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. It would get clogged with leaves and such but that's expected. I would definitely recommend this product. I gotta say tho that it's really powerful.

"It was such a pain."This electric gravel vac was the best solution for my set up. I'd recommend this, but it just takes a little practice. I have never cleaned the rocks or changed the water in my aquarium so effortlessly. I did have to cut one of the tubes to make it a little shorter but that was easy. I LOVE IT SO MUCH I'm getting another for the fish tank at my Mom's house. It filters out the solids and returns the water to the tank. I highly recommend this product for all aquarium keepers.

"THEN I FOUND THIS!"The hardest thing to do is wrap up the cord to store it after use. And the price is more than reasonable. I would definitely recommend this product. In saying that I get build up of solids in certain parts of my tank. I'd recommend this, but it just takes a little practice. Gets under decorations between plants and in corners. Prolly also easier to use with larger hands.

"Exactly what I needed!"I'd recommend this, but it just takes a little practice. Most of the poop just sits on the top the sand substrate in my tank. I do not write a ton of reviews but I HAVE to review this amazing time saver! I have a 29g aquarium and it does suction quickly as others have said. I found that it's difficult to use. Needless to say there was a lot of muc on the bottom. I just pump the water directly into my sump.

I hope that I do not need another but I would purchase again without hesitation. I learned that the best control was to shorten the device as much as possible. "I recommend highly."Suction is amazing and I don't have any issues. Its made the water changes on my 55 gallon and 20 tall so easy. In saying this it's nice to not lift those heavy buckets to the top anymore. The telescoping tube will extent to permit a larger tank to be effectively cleaned. Which was why I'm so glad I got this one. I would definitely recommend this product. The costomer service for this company is wonderful.

I was using a 110 Volt aquarium cleaner before I purchased this one. Like I said can splice more hose on to reach to the outside or wherever. They more than helped me resolve my situation.
