Python is good too but this is fast, easy and light. Easy peasy and clean up is a breeze. In saying this it's nice to not lift those heavy buckets to the top anymore. It doesn't do as good a job cleaning the gravel like a gravity suction siphon. I did add a hose from an old gravel cleaner to reach my bucket. I also used this LinkinsLegacy cleaner in my kitchen sink. I would recommend turning your filter off during the process.

Putting the thing together is really intuitive and easy. I would recommend turning your filter off during the process. If for some reason this one fails, I'll just buy it again. I like the fact it is not draining the water when you vacuum. This thing does both at the same time and quickly. My tank was beyond maintenance work with alot of decay and algae. Python is good too but this is fast, easy and light. I only needed 2 pumps to get the flow going. But this thing is amazing the suction is crazy! Maybe if another piece was included to attach to the right after the shutoff. I only needed 2 pumps to get the flow going. It got clogged with a small plastic container that got caught in the disposal. If you have a HUGE tank, though, it will tank you a while.

Takes me less than 10min to clean my tank with this method. It would get clogged with leaves and such but that's expected. It's also pretty slow going, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Product arrived really quick and is packaged nicely. I may modify mine to be more robust. Wasted an entire morning taking it apart, checking everything etc. Gravel cleaning has become so easy and mess free.

Definitely not for the common colored gravel found at pet stores. It will suck up a little bit of sand, which is expected and acceptable. The hardest thing to do is wrap up the cord to store it after use. The filter loads up really fast, so it's not much good for recycling water cleaning. It did however do a better job than the gravel vac i was using before. I LOVE IT SO MUCH I'm getting another for the fish tank at my Mom's house. I love the extendable attachments for my larger tanks.

I found that it's difficult to use. I am very satisfied with how the aquarium cleaner operates and highly recommend it. In saying that I get build up of solids in certain parts of my tank. The telescoping tube will extent to permit a larger tank to be effectively cleaned. I would get suction for a few seconds and then it would trickle to nothing. What I love about this is the water return function. I am so glad to have this for my fish care.

The hardest thing to do is wrap up the cord to store it after use. Ohh I also use it to add water to my system. Gets under decorations between plants and in corners. I have large fish and large fish make large poop! So I use the NICREW power vac in between water changes and it works great! Connections leak over time so I have to put some silicon joint while I join them. Product arrived really quick and is packaged nicely.

"Another tip."

This gravel vacuum works very well. In saying this it's nice to not lift those heavy buckets to the top anymore. I just pump the water directly into my sump. The trigger can be pulled on and off and it shakes the gravel for you. It would get clogged with leaves and such but that's expected. Ignore the orang plastic clip that attaches to a bucket. I fell in love with African Dwarf Frogs when they were in a 10 gallon in my kitchen.

They more than helped me resolve my situation. I may modify mine to be more robust. Needless to say there was a lot of muc on the bottom. Which was why I'm so glad I got this one. They more than helped me resolve my situation. I was worried I would have to keep unplugging and plugging in through out cleaning. The water gets filtered in the chamber and then RETURNED BACK TO THE TANK!
