Suction is amazing and I don't have any issues. Which was why I'm so glad I got this one. I have several divided tanks and I struggle to get the normal syphon in to clean. I found that it's difficult to use. As you can see from the photo, it works great! I just pump the water directly into my sump. If you've never used a gravel vac, get this product and watch a YouTube video.

"I LOVE this thing."

I should have believed the other reviews. I did add a hose from an old gravel cleaner to reach my bucket. Makes cleaning my daughter's turtle tank much, much easier. I am very satisfied with how the aquarium cleaner operates and highly recommend it. Returned, but agreed to try another one. I just pump the water directly into my sump. The filter loads up really fast, so it's not much good for recycling water cleaning.

"Becareful not to do this!"

It will suck up a little bit of sand, which is expected and acceptable. So, I bought a 20 gallon long and transferred them from the 10 gallon. I lose about 5 gallons a week due to evaporation. I've done the siphon vacuum attempts with 3 different products. If you have a HUGE tank, though, it will tank you a while. Returned, but agreed to try another one. This electric gravel vac was the best solution for my set up.

I wish i had bought this the first time. I would recommend this due to the fantastic job it has provided for my needs. I gotta say tho that it's really powerful. I learned that the hose attachment was great at removing water from the tank. Putting the thing together is really intuitive and easy. Even straightening this it would just close at this point again. Cleaning a tank is the worst part of the fish owning process.

"I just can't use it."

I did have to cut one of the tubes to make it a little shorter but that was easy. I can't believe how inexpensive this most awesome thing is! My previous gravel vacuum from Petco was horrible. I gotta say tho that it's really powerful. I can't believe a marvelous thing such as this could be so inexpensive! In saying this it's nice to not lift those heavy buckets to the top anymore. I did add a hose from an old gravel cleaner to reach my bucket.

Cleaning a tank is the worst part of the fish owning process. Returned, but agreed to try another one. The assembly instructions for this unit are unquestionably clear and precise. Easy peasy and clean up is a breeze. I learned that the best control was to shorten the device as much as possible. Wasted an entire morning taking it apart, checking everything etc. If, like me, you can't get suction going on a low-tech vacuum, get this thing!

I don't use the sponge and filter pad that came with the device. 20 gallon long also means more ADFs! I would recommend this due to the fantastic job it has provided for my needs. The bucket clamp also doesn't work very well. The bucket clamp also doesn't work very well. In saying that I get build up of solids in certain parts of my tank. Prolly also easier to use with larger hands.

"Another tip."

I have never cleaned the rocks or changed the water in my aquarium so effortlessly. It got clogged a few times and i had to take it to the sink and run water through it. I have a 20 gallon long tank at floor level. It kept coming off and made a mess on the floor. It did however do a better job than the gravel vac i was using before. I hope that I do not need another but I would purchase again without hesitation. It just takes a little bit of trial and error on your part.

I do not write a ton of reviews but I HAVE to review this amazing time saver! Best gadget i bought for cleaning tanks! With this 12 Volt aquarium cleaner that apprehension is eliminated. Suction is amazing and I don't have any issues. Product arrived really quick and is packaged nicely. The telescoping tube will extent to permit a larger tank to be effectively cleaned. I highly recommend this product for all aquarium keepers.

It filters out the solids and returns the water to the tank. Ignore the orang plastic clip that attaches to a bucket. Using a bucket to remove old water and then fill up bucket with new water. I can't believe how inexpensive this most awesome thing is! That said, the results were excellent. My previous gravel vacuum from Petco was horrible. That said, the results were excellent.
