I don't use the sponge and filter pad that came with the device. 20 gallon long also means more ADFs! I would recommend this due to the fantastic job it has provided for my needs. The assembly instructions for this unit are unquestionably clear and precise. Product seems to be well made and should work a long time with reasonable care.
