It worked really well and still allowed new stems to pop through. The glow is pretty minimal but it still looks nice. I baught a 5 gallon tank and i had to buy 2 packs. The color of the gravel makes the blue in my Tetra's and Gourami's pop. I decided on this particular brand of gravel because of Amazon's add-on program. This is not the colored synthetic aquarium medium. Color is good contrast to the Beta.

"Nice gravel."

This is the real deal mother earth approx. I have bought 2 bags of this gravel. It's a gemstone quality gravel, not the topfin crap from petsmart. Don't even waste your time adding it to your tank. One bag was open and had emptied into the box. I recommend doing it in smaller portions. For my purpose, they work perfectly, for an aquarium, they might need a quick rinse.

"It's gravel."

I didn't even need the water clarifier, and I found it in the bag. I recommend doing it in smaller portions. I've ordered their midnight pearl color and it is beautiful too. I've been using it now for a couple of months and nothing has happened to them. The pebbles are a perfect size for 30+ gallon tanks. I'm accenting with multicolored glass rocks to accent. My Vallisneria and amazon swords grow just fine in this substrate.

"I do not like fish."

Works great in my daughter aquarium. It gives a very natural riverbed look to the aquarium. I have a 90 gallon aquarium with a footprint of 18 by 48 inches. I've been using it now for a couple of months and nothing has happened to them. Arrived in 8 sealed plastic bags inside one Priority box. Water became with film like on top and lots of little bubbles on every surface. Like everyone else says wash it before putting it in your tank.

Wash gravel well before use, and its pretty good. The rocks are REALLY dirty, and contain random debris. I do not own glofish nor a glofish tank. I opened the bag, dumped it in a bowl and filled it with water. It does need a good washing, and I used a 5 gallon bucket method. 5 inches of gravel, so you could use more or less depending on tank size. The little package of clarifier included is not nearly enough.

I bought two bags for my 55 gallon. Don't use any soaps or anything else. The gravel size is exactly as described in the product description- 2 to 4mm. Some of the bad feedback says it clouds the water. I have blue lights and white lights in my tanks. Like everyone else says wash it before putting it in your tank. Had to move fish out after it nearly died.

Very random shapes and colors that blend well. I think the pink makes my aquarium stand out and gives it a cute little look. I'll definitely use this gravel again the next time I start a new tank. Wash gravel well before use, and its pretty good. Overall I am happy with the gravel. The texture is smooth so cories and burrowing fish will not hurt themselves. So if you are looking for bigger size, this is not it.

I opened the bag, dumped it in a bowl and filled it with water. It was easy to clean and looks great in my bamboo glass vases! So if you are looking for bigger size, this is not it. Colors are exactly as shown on the screen- at least on my monitor. So will just see if color stays-God willing! Snails and fish dont seem to mind the switch from sand. We bought this for a glo fish tank.

Using these stones for growing bulbs for church project. It gives a very natural riverbed look to the aquarium. Stir periodically and then your good to go! This is not the colored synthetic aquarium medium. I use a hybrid of the Walstad Method, and this stuff is perfect. It's a gemstone quality gravel, not the topfin crap from petsmart. For smaller plants, these rocks are a little on the big side.

"So it really is natural."

Love the vibrant neon colors mixed in with the black gravel. Just be patient and realize that it's going to take a while to rinse it. Needs more plants but it makes the colors of the fish and other decor really pop. It really makes the tank look sharp and I believe the goldfish likes it, too. For reference, my tank is a 20 gallon tall tank. I would buy again if the price didn't double from last time. The smooth and small pebbles are great for people keeping corycats.
