"Really happy with it."

Was frustrating but nobody's fault but mine. If you can keep your tank clean, this is perfect for you. I think it's probably OK to use without any washing, as it says on the bag. I went ahead and used it without rinsing it, which was a mistake. I bought the Sunset Gold color and it is a beautiful sand. This sand is beautiful and incredibly soft! Color in the pic looks pretty true to the real thing.

"WHAT A MESS!"

Then swirled and dumped what didn't sink immediately. Clear water, no chemical issues and makes the tank look sparkling clean. I received this aquarium sand yesterday. Take my advice, which I got from someone else, and buy a mini gravel vacuum. I never did get around to switching to gravel. Highly recommend, found out about it on YouTube. You'll be shocked at the fine particles that come out!

"But its natural SAND."

The Estes sand came highly recommended. The bio magnet clarifier clears the water up at first, but then it gets cloudy again. It is beautiful and I'm thrilled with my purchase! I didn't have fish yet and decided just to chance it. If you are starting a new tank, this is the one that I would recommend. My Corydoras are having a field day! Some people might have time to, but I do not.

"Beautiful aquarium sand."

I bought the Torpedo Beach sand hoping for a pretty white sand and it was. Almost like a sparkle, but not bright. It is slightly finer and it hides algae very well. Just be smarter than me about it and you'll be very happy with the product. It's what I did with the sand I had left over that I'm using in my smaller tank. This was a very nice sand and I enjoyed it very much! I used about 9 lbs in my 5 gallon tank, since I wanted a deep substrate layer.

"HOW TO WASH SAND."

I unloaded it into a bucket and continued to rinse several times. Highly recommend, found out about it on YouTube. I found that red cherry shrimp adore diatoms. My beautiful sand turned a very dark brown. This is a nice color of sand and looks good under the light. It has cleared up but still a little cloudy. Kind of sharp sand, not the soft smooth kind.

"Great product."

But that is also something to consider with all sands. It's as close to white sand as you can get! I will need 3 more bags if I want a thicker 1 inch layer to fill my entire tank. This is the easiest sand and gravel I've ever cleaned. Color in the pic looks pretty true to the real thing. If you are starting a new tank, this is the one that I would recommend. One bag was enough to cover my standard 10 gallon tank.

"No harm to the filters."

The sand causes bubbles to remain on top of the water too. My Corydoras are having a field day! This is the easiest sand and gravel I've ever cleaned. I used it in my fire bellied toad enclosure, it is cloudy but that's expected. The bag is small, but the quality of sand is good. But I have to give it to this sand. And it is not recommended that you rinse it out.

At that point rinse the sand a couple more times. The other comes packed pre-cultured with nitrifying bacteria. I have a 50 gallon established freshwater tank. The bio magnet clarifier clears the water up at first, but then it gets cloudy again. Poured water in, ran the filter for a day. Just cleaned the 5 lbs in a 5 gal bucket in the bath tub. The water was clear by the next day.

"Just some dust."

This sand is beautiful and incredibly soft! For a Flounder tank, well, we will just have to see when they get here. The other contains a floculant, to help clear cloudy water. I went ahead and used it without rinsing it, which was a mistake. I'm setting up another tank and this will be the substrate. I used to use the bigger gravel, but wanted to change it up. A simple pass with a siphon hose removes most all of the waste.

I purchased this to use on 2 20 gallon aquarium. It has cleared up but still a little cloudy. Dont force yourself to look at a boring bare bottom tank! "I didn't want tan."

I have yet to do a water change, but I do not anticipate any problems. If you are starting a new tank, this is the one that I would recommend. The filter we used was also established with bacteria from the former tank setup. Darker sand still grows algae, but hides it. Just don't dump the water in the drain as its bad if sand is stuck in the drains! Some people might have time to, but I do not. Just cleaned the 5 lbs in a 5 gal bucket in the bath tub.

I've had it in my aquarium now for just about 24 hours and cycling. Plants are easy to plant in it as well. This was a very nice sand and I enjoyed it very much! Except for and axolotl owner this Sand is veryyy hard to keep clean! When adding water, no dust, no mess. Take my advice, which I got from someone else, and buy a mini gravel vacuum.
