"Highly recommend."

It helped the water clear up faster. I unloaded it into a bucket and continued to rinse several times. You probably need more if you are planning on planting live plants. I went ahead and used it without rinsing it, which was a mistake. I love this substrate, I use it for my betta& goldfish tanks and it looks great. Take my advice, which I got from someone else, and buy a mini gravel vacuum. The bio magnet clarifier clears the water up at first, but then it gets cloudy again.

"I couldn't be happier."

Will never use ugly waste trapping gravel again! The filter doesn't agitate the sand either. The bio magnet clarifier clears the water up at first, but then it gets cloudy again. The bag is small, but the quality of sand is good. I'm setting up another tank and this will be the substrate. Have a seat and shoot the water with force down into the sand. This torpedo beach sand is wonderful.

"I couldn't be happier."

Worried about my newts underbelly but he seems okay with it. This is a nice color of sand and looks good under the light. I rinsed each bag separately and skimmed the small amount that floated to the top. My Corydoras are having a field day! But like everything else, you have to make choices and compromises. Mine play and frolic constantly, leaving happy little trails all over the tank. It has cleared up but still a little cloudy.

"Hope this helps!"

I was nervous about converting my freshwater tank substrate from gravel to sand. It is beautiful and I'm thrilled with my purchase! My Corydoras are having a field day! This sand is almost exactly like the beach in Destin, FL. I did lots of research on the subject and decided to make the leap. I used it in my fire bellied toad enclosure, it is cloudy but that's expected. No need to rinse before putting in aquarium.

"Stick hose into bucket."

I received this aquarium sand yesterday. They keep the surface of my sand looking pretty and white. Use the strongest, most focused nozzle you have. It's as close to white sand as you can get! This was a very nice sand and I enjoyed it very much! This filled a fair thin layer over half my elongated 35 gallon tank. I love this substrate, I use it for my betta& goldfish tanks and it looks great.

"It cleans fairly well."

I used this sand in my 30gallon and put it into a 6. If you are starting a new tank, this is the one that I would recommend. It's easy to clean and I didn't have an issue to floating particles. Clear water, no chemical issues and makes the tank look sparkling clean. A simple pass with a siphon hose removes most all of the waste. Almost like a sparkle, but not bright. But that is also something to consider with all sands.

10 weeks in and I have four tanks going. The water was clear by the next day. There are two versions of the Crystal River Sand from Caribsea. The filter doesn't agitate the sand either. I toss the cloudy water into the streets instead. I received this aquarium sand yesterday. For a Flounder tank, well, we will just have to see when they get here.

"Love love love love love!"

I unloaded it into a bucket and continued to rinse several times. Perfect sand, I didn't bother rinsing or cleaning it like the directions said. It's what I did with the sand I had left over that I'm using in my smaller tank. 2 weeks later and my tank is still a little cloudy. Poured water in, ran the filter for a day. The point is, discus and rams do not appreciate getting buffeted. I have a 50 gallon established freshwater tank.

It helped the water clear up faster. This could very well be the perfect substrate, except for one thing. I toss the cloudy water into the streets instead. The filter doesn't agitate the sand either. The other comes packed pre-cultured with nitrifying bacteria. The water was clear by the next day. That is why I chose the Hydor Koralia Nano 240. A bit beige mixed with white, but the crystals are still very pretty. Highly recommend, found out about it on YouTube. It helps eliminate deadly ammonia spikes. They keep the surface of my sand looking pretty and white. I like the extra little packet of bio-magnet clarifier. I thought it was soap, but it's not. "The sand is nice."

If you can keep your tank clean, this is perfect for you. My Corydoras are having a field day! No need to rinse before putting in aquarium. Perfect sand, I didn't bother rinsing or cleaning it like the directions said. The soft sand makes it easy to place plants without damaging them. All three are inert; therefore, they do not affect ph. Not as thin as sand but works well for our musk turtle substrate.

"The algae will die off."

Really nice appearance in the tank, looks very authentic. I have yet to do a water change, but I do not anticipate any problems. I decided that I'll keep the sand after all. Come to find out the sand is somewhat dirty. Bought this 50lbs bag for my 55g freshwater aquarium, boy is the white sand nice! The other contains a floculant, to help clear cloudy water. I used this sand in my 30gallon and put it into a 6.

"I really like it!"

Plant tanks require high light levels. The point is, discus and rams do not appreciate getting buffeted. I toss the cloudy water into the streets instead. Do that over and over till the water finally is clear in the bucket. Just be smarter than me about it and you'll be very happy with the product. I used to use the bigger gravel, but wanted to change it up. Half of the bag was more than enough for my aquarium.

"It worked like a charm."

It looks great and it's super quality. The sand does look nice and comes to you clean, it'll only take a minute to wash. Dumped sand in bucket and let water overflow get rid of the floating stuff. Like I said earlier, it's like beach sand. But like everything else, you have to make choices and compromises. The grain size will range from fine to medium. Some will leave the tank when you get rid of unwanted plants too.

"Just some dust."

I have a 50 gallon established freshwater tank. The sand arrived dry, I'm still unclear if that's how it was supposed to arrive. If you are starting a new tank, this is the one that I would recommend. If you have bright lights, algae will grow on this sand. Except for and axolotl owner this Sand is veryyy hard to keep clean! If you are starting a new tank, this is the one that I would recommend. I never did get around to switching to gravel.
