Again, heater and light if you are doing real plants. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this Beautiful little tank so much I bought another one. The description lists dimmensions but it still feels small. I say it's a good buy and a very nice tank. Fortunately, the way the arm is designed you can zip tie something like the 7. The rule of thumb is one small fish per gallon. Ok let's start off with the tank itself.

I have this unit deployed for a couple of months now. Incredibly happy with this purchase. Enough colors and gradients to please any demanding scaled pet. The background adds a lot of depth that feels missing in a standard aquarium. The filter is actually a pretty nice design. I put mine in the corner of my breakfast bar. The background is made very nicely and doesn't take up a whole lot of the tank.

I bought this to basically replace a 5 gallon tank and make a new planted version. My beta seems to be adjusting well. It's perfect for guppies, shrimp, bettas, neon tetras or any other small fish. Hope this list helps those who are new to keeping fish-- they are a great first pet! The background is comes with is just super convenient! Of course the tank is an odd shape in itself lol. This is especially important if you opt to keep tropical fish rather than a betta.

This is especially important if you opt to keep tropical fish rather than a betta. We have had it for over a month now. All you need to add for a happy Betta fish is an extra light and a tank heater. The pump is also as close to silent as you can get. He does swim under the shelf of the background but never hides there. Incredibly happy with this purchase. I do use the filter housing to house a heater and co2 diffuser.

The curve radius also makes it hard to clean the glass on the edges. BUT it still looks pretty cool for a background lol. We have had it for over a month now. The lights alone are beautiful to brighten up a space. Plan to buy another filter as this filter will be too noisy for you to tolerate! - Though the base is plastic, it's sturdy. He loves exploring his new environment with all the fresh vegetation. So I now have a little cubby that my fish uses to hide. Will not grow anything aside from Anubias and moss balls. Disregard the videos that show the filter operating with a loud chattering noise.

The light is fairly bright but insufficient for growing any decent live plants. The heater was a no-name 200W UL certified. My plants have been doing fine and the filter and lights have worked really well. There arent very many other aquariums at this price point with these measurements. Stop now and BUY BUY BUY you will love it! The filter has great flow and comes with an extended spray bar. I absolutely love this eight gallon tank.

I would recommend those back flow connectors for the air pump. And now, the pros and cons in my opinion. I put shrimp and guppies in it and they love it. It is definitely something that you can noticeably hear, but it is not an annoyance. Came pretty quickly and was not damaged. Not crazy about the lid or the stand.
