"It cleans itself!"It is simple, but not without being a very thoughtfully designed product. It got clogged a few times and i had to take it to the sink and run water through it. It finally broke after 10 years of use so I could justify buying a new one! The nuisance has certainly yielded me from cleaning tank more often. It was quiet and I could sink it into the aquarium and stir up the substrate. Aside from that, i am very happy with the product and would encourage you to get it! "Took him an hour."This one doesn't lose suction, and is easy to use. I washed mine with mild dish soap and the small was gone. I got this one until my son broke my siphon. I have a 55 gallon turtle aquarium and this works awesome for it. I got this one until my son broke my siphon. It pulls out the dirty water and debris but doesn't take your substrate with it. This is definitely a better tool overall.

"Mine's just 5."The vacuum insn't too loud which is good, and has very good suction. Perhaps if it gets a piece of sand in the pump then it freezes or seizes. Soft tubing, large debris basket, hand pump to get it to flow. I gotta say tho that it's really powerful. I LOVE IT SO MUCH I'm getting another for the fish tank at my Mom's house. "So I gave it a shot."Water changing+ vacuuming, you can use it as powerhead to make more water movement. I really love this gravel cleaner for water changing and gravel cleaning. I put the water from the from yard into a 58 qt bin first. I did have to cut one of the tubes to make it a little shorter but that was easy. I am very pleased with this product! It was quiet and I could sink it into the aquarium and stir up the substrate. Suction is amazing and I don't have any issues.

"Highly recommended."Now, the water change is a piece of cake. Best fish maintenance product I have purchased. The pump works very well too, two squeezes and it's siphoning. It's too small, just wash that baby out at the sink. It did however do a better job than the gravel vac i was using before. It quit working after the second use! I pushed the tip down into the substrate and pulled the ditritus out right away.

"So very disappointed!"That will show you which parts go were. So this thing has alot of parts and poor instructions. And suddenly it began running again! Instead, I would suck from the end of the tube until water came out. It does the same work, only better and in half the time. The best thing is I don't need to shovel gravels out to clean the bottom of the tank. This water pump certainly takes much of those hassle out of water changes.

"Exactly what I needed!"I was using a regular siphon gravel cleaner and it was painstaking. The suction tube is plenty long to reach all over in the'hard to reach' spots. Soft tubing, large debris basket, hand pump to get it to flow. Once you get the tank water flowing out of the tubing. I did have to cut one of the tubes to make it a little shorter but that was easy. Hopefully my replacement works and I can change my review. This has made it a lot easier to clean our fish tank.

"Great product."The bucket clamp also doesn't work very well. I wish i had bought this the first time. But all in all, I'm relieved and happy! I also found that the angled attachment clogged way easy. I even separated the tubes and used it to clean my small 5 gallon! I'd recommend this, but it just takes a little practice. Water changing+ vacuuming, you can use it as powerhead to make more water movement.

"Nothing bad to say."So after I received my replacement tool, i did a water change with it. Once put together, I tried it immediately- it was AWESOME! Almost a must have for anyone with an aquarium. It's really a super super great tool. The costomer service for this company is wonderful. Ignore the orang plastic clip that attaches to a bucket. I put it together in a cinch and was off and running.

"Wonderful product!"Definitely worth the money spent on the product. But It always ended up messy with water on the floor. Gets under decorations between plants and in corners. I wanted another one but amazon just wants me to return it. I found that it's difficult to use. The speed of water removal works for cleaning an occupied tank. Like I said can splice more hose on to reach to the outside or wherever.
