"It's fish food!"The Petco store was out of that brand. I have used this brand and fish food since the day I purchased my fish. The container looks like the one I'd just finished so I bought it. For whatever reason, my fish have never been much attracted to pellet food. Because apparently my queensland dogs like it and need to participate too. "It's friken fish pellets."In particular, they attack the red-colored flakes. My wife has raised her goldfish on Tetra goldfish flakes from day one. I received my order today as promised and the shipping box was sealed and undamaged. Doesn't cloudy my tank up, extra dissolves without any problems. To put it in perspective, its about 6 inches tall and 3 inches wide! I expressed my frustration at the fish store, and they recommended these granules. My Oscar is almost 4 years old and loves it.

"Strong fish food smell."The Petco store was out of that brand. Many betta foods are floating orbs that have a diameter too large for bettas. They grew quick on flakes, they love them. The fishes are are healthy, happy and colorful. I tried a different brand for a week, and then bought a new bottle of this food. Kind of seems like junk food but the fish all love it. I actually only buy their food and fish tank kits.

Beta fish response to this product is less intersted as compared to bug bites. There were two kinds of food--one flake and one in stick form.
