API 56E First Impressions

Subtracted from the tank.

These filters get the job done, but do plug up quickly when my water is that gross. Couldn't find this at the local pet store and it was cheaper online. Excellent product, you simply can't beat the price and shipping was bullet fast. In the last two months I have seen this product work its gold. We've got 2 in ours even though the package says to only use one. I used one gallon of reverse osmosis and the rest tap. Frequently changing the filter messes with the aquarium nitrogen cycle.

The hotter, the faster.

The siphon works well and does what it should. It only requires 3 drops per gallon you add to your tank. Couldn't find this at the local pet store and it was cheaper online. You just give it some squeezes, and the outpouring begins and doesn't take forever. If placed the other way, the carbon can be pushed out into the aquarium. Water stays nice and clear, minus the odd algae bloom. So, lots of snipping and fitting on various stems.
