That was another battle trying to get those on. So I dont need the suction cups even though I'm glad I have them. The flow holes allowed for ample current and water circulation. Let's water flow freely through our entire tank. The female is on the larger side with her babies. It is difficult to move the side bars to move out to close the gaps. It worked well in my very small 12 gallon show tank.

I like Product.
Only because of that reviewer, I was able to use them the way I intended. There are slots along the top that they can see through. If you have the divider in the gravel it will not meet the top of the tank. Very sturdy, has clips on the sides to keep in place. It dose have good flow between the tanks. This product is one that I would be really sad to see disappear. Look closely at the slight taper in the connections to see which way to insert them.
