This worked perfectly for my 55 gallon aquarium. No matter what size betta I put I know it won't go through the divider. Doing these two things really keeps this thing in place. Holes are big enough for good circulation throughout the tank. It is difficult to move the side bars to move out to close the gaps. I used this to separate my two Betta fish in a 10 gallon tank. 6-25-19- I had to make a minor adjustment to my divider.
