MarineLand PA0139-03 First Impressions
They do the job well!
The foam is not coarse as illustrated; it's finer and denser. Outside tank on deck with just a few fish. I just changed it today and the water is crystal clear-- no problems. I bought these because I was afraid my shrimp were getting sucked up in the filter. The box comes with super easy and clear instructions. Lets start with the amount of filter material you get. Tank is clean and all my new shrimp are still alive!

MarineLand PA0139-03 Final Thoughts
The hole is smaller.
You can put power heads on the riser tubes to increase the flow through the filter. The first 3 pics are of my RR tank with sump. Better than branded media filters cartridges. The concentration of flow will mean faster clogging, lower flow and motor strain. Never use live rooting plants with UG filters. Fill with the supplied carbon and voila. You can run everything on battery backup sockets.
