Penn-Plax AN2 First Impressions

The thing is awesome!

So it IS possible for very small fry to slip through the slits. Instead of catching babies, I simply leave the mom in the top piece. I have used other breeder boxes and like this one the best. Not as sturdy as I thought but perfect for what I wanted. With the fry drop removed you get a really nice size little tank. Worked great for me and my need to separate babies from the rest of the tank. Tired of my guppies eating their fry and found this.

Penn-Plax AN2 Final Thoughts

He's happy, so I'm happy.

Unlike the males, female Bettas should get along together. Easily accommodates two Molly's, swords or platy fish. They seemed scared at first but calmed down after about 30 minutes. Especially if you plan to hold the babies there for a while. Kind of a pain to remove the lid and feed the fry. I put three pregnant females in the box immediately. Suction cups do not hold the box up under its own weight.
