I have two female Bettas and a Pleco in a filtered, heated 15-gallon tank. There are slats in the bottom for the babies to escape to, to keep from being eaten. Both are designed for free floating. That way the water still flows nicely in where mom is. Kind of a pain to remove the lid and feed the fry. I usually wait to write reviews but I am already impressed with this breeding box. The lid doesn't lock in place too snugly which make it easy to open.
